President Trump has managed to shake up the world like no one else before. His recent meeting with the UN goes to show that it doesn’t matter who is speaking with, the truth will always come out.
The President finally had his debut at the United Nations, and it is a speech that is going to go down in history. The speech amounted to Trump letting the UN know that we all need to come together, and everyone needs to start doing their part. Because, according to Trump, no country shall “Shoulder a disproportionate share of the burden and that’s military or financially,” The key word being, “disproportionate,” something the US has had to deal with for a long time.

Generally speaking, his message to everyone in the United Nations was clear. His goal was to get all 193 nations on the right page and let them know that identifying missions and establishing clear-cut goals.
President Trump took his business approach with him to the UN, and it seemed to have an impact on the people there. “We are not seeing the results in line with this investment,” Trump noted.
The out-of-control budget was a concern for Trump when he was running for office. Now that he has made it into the White House, it is finally time to do something about this growing problem
“In recent years, the United Nations has not reached its full potential due to bureaucracy and mismanagement,” Trump pointed out. He believes that the only way to fix the issues is to rework the system, streamline it — if you will.
Of the previously mentioned 193 nations in the UN, the United States cover 22 percent of the overall UN budget. This is the “disproportion” that the President alluded to previously.
It was at this time that the president encouraged all members of the UN to embrace coming change. He urged them to change “business as usual and not be beholden to ways of the past which were not working.”
President Trump had people backing him almost right away. Australian Prime Minister Julie Bishop welcomed his ideas of reform. Other leaders are expected to follow suit.
“We want to ensure it is the most effective, efficient organization it can be and we were pleased that President Trump has supported UN reform,” Bishop stated.
Trump says no nation should shoulder a disproportionate share of the burden of the UN. Will Trump be able to reform UN?
The president has said in the past that he found the UN to be weak and incompetent. Now, his tone has changed because there is a chance to right the wrongs with the global organization. They can be brought together for the forces of good.
Most recently, Trump praised the votes in the UN that added further sanctions to loose canon country North Korea. Other nations see the threat that he possesses; there is no doubt about that.
Moving forward, we hope to see the changes that Trump has encouraged come through to the UN, one piece at a time. Change can happen, but it is going to take time, planning, and consideration of everyone involved. This could be the first step in the right direction to a more peaceful, productive United Nations.
