President Donald Trump is well-known for calling it how he sees it. One of his favorite groups to call out is “news network” CNN. His most recent mockery of them left the organization with a bad taste in their mouth.
The President took to Twitter Saturday night to express his irritation at the newsgroup. According to Daily Mail, he explained that he thinks that CNN is doing an awful job at representing the United States to the rest of the world. The tweet went on to say that Fox News is much more important than CNN in putting forward a global image.
“@FoxNews is MUCH more important in the United States than CNN, but outside of the U.S., CNN International is still a major source of (Fake) news, and they represent our Nation to the WORLD very poorly,” the tweet started. Alluding to the “fake news” that CNN has become infamous for, the President concluded with, “The outside world does not see the truth from them!”
CNN goes out of their way to try and push their agenda against President Trump. They do not appear to care whether or not their reporting is rooted in truth.
The evidence is based on their negative coverage of President Trump since his election win. In May, Harvard researchers revealed that 93 percent of CNN’s coverage on President Trump’s first 100 days was negative.
Ironically, when Trump strikes back at them, CNN clutches their pearls. They play the victim while propagating rumors that the 2016 election was hacked by mysterious Russians (who allegedly colluded with President Trump) with no evidence to back up their claims. Even Special Counsel Robert Mueller can’t find evidence after six months of investigations.
Just as expected, CNN responded to the President’s tweet in the same “pearl clutching” method that they frequent. “It’s not CNN‘s job to represent the U.S. to the world. That’s yours. Our job is to report the news. #FactsFirst.”
Their new slogan, “facts first” is ironic, because they are known throughout the industry as the organization that publishes the most stories that are just plain false (or deceptively edited) to spread their narrative. They rarely publish videos in full context on their network.
The news that they are reporting on doesn’t even have to be about President Trump. At one point, they showed a Black Lives Matter protester saying that the organization needed to quit burning down their neighborhood. The network praised her as a hero, but they failed to provide context for the video, which changed its entire meaning.
Do you agree that CNN is fake news?
The whole video showed the girl swearing and saying that the group needed to quit burning down their neighborhood, and instead, go to the suburbs and “burn that s*** down.” This is just one example of the network’s manipulative reporting and editing.
President Trump sees CNN as a distraction, and harmful to the country — that much is clear. He is trying to make these bold, late night Twitter announcements to get people talking. Love it or hate it — it is working. People are finally talking, and the truth is getting uncovered.
