In the age of social media, it isn’t hard to go back and look at what people have said in the past. Sometimes this can be a good thing. In Michael Moore’s case, he probably has some regrets.
Donald Trump Jr. decided to remind Michael Moore of a tweet that he issued a while back. The tweet in question said, “Actually Harvey Weinstein is one of the best people to work with in this town #funfactneverreported,” to which Trump Jr. added, “This didn’t age well.” As expected, the Left has lost their mind in spite of Weinstein’s despicable behavior.
In the post comments, users are posting photoshopped pictures of Weinstein with Trump Jr., as well as President Trump. The worst part about all of this is the photos are clearly photoshopped; the edit lines are completely visible.
If one is going to try to pose a counterargument via a photoshopped picture, they should at least try beyond these shoddy and fraudulent attempts.
The Weinstein Company, a high-powered Hollywood production company, recently fired their co-founder, Harvey Weinstein, after it was discovered that he was involved in multiple situations where he was sexually harassing actresses and employees of the company.
The New York Times initially broke the story on Weinstein, and the response from the public was swift. One of the company’s four board members, Lance Maerov, came out and made a statement.
Maerov said they came to their decision, “in light of new information about misconduct by Harvey Weinstein that has emerged in the past few days.” He went on to say that during the previous week, Weinstein had violated the code of conduct for the business, though he refused to verify what that violation was.
However, the sexual harassment cases span decades–not weeks. As a result, Maerov, Bob Weinstein (Harvey’s brother), Richard Koenigsberg and Tarak Ben Ammar decided to terminate Harvey from the company.
Interestingly, a fifth board member named Paul Tudor Jones resigned on Saturday. It is unknown at this time why he decided to resign after news of the sexual harassment allegations became public.
Trump Jr. likely decided to expose Moore’s pearl-clutching that took place when President Trump was elected. Moore has made plenty of inappropriate and false statements about the President while hanging out with people–like Weinstein–who have been accused of decades-long acts of sexual harassment. The display of hypocrisy is unsurprising.
More people denying connection with Weinstein. Maybe it’s time for Hollywood to reevaluate what it values?
As President Trump’s time in office creeps closer to a year, more bold moves like this are coming from the people in and around the White House. It is no doubt a response to the relentless attacks perpetrated by media and liberal Hollywood types who want to demonize the Trump family at every turn. Using social media has allowed the family — and others in the administration — to bypass fake news and issue responses directly to the people.
Instead of making false accusations about people they are clueless about, the moral of the story here seems to suggest that maybe these liberal Hollywood elitists need to take a look at the people they are working with every day.
