President Trump is facing a steep uphill battle with Congress — even the Republicans — when it comes to moving his agenda, and that of the American people, forward. A new Executive Order is going to add to the difficulties of the battle once Congress realizes what he has done.
On Thursday, President Trump announced that he is going to be “starting that process” of ultimately repealing and replacing Obamacare with his new Executive Order, according to CBS News. This law is going to shake up the insurance industry and significantly change critical aspects of health insurance and the way people are covered. This is excellent news for the American people who wanted to see Obamacare flushed away as this is an essential first step in that process.
President Trump met with his top administration members, business leaders from around the country, and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), to announce the Executive Order. The meeting took place in the White House Roosevelt Room.
Sen. Paul praised the bill and said it is a significant part of getting rid of Obamacare. Based on the obstruction that the President is facing he didn’t have a choice but to execute the order.
The President assured the people that he would repeal and replace Obamacare but the Republicans in Congress have resisted him every step of the way. Rather, enough Republicans resisted to make it a problem — many agreed with the repeal and replace plan.
Per usual, Trump took to Twitter to announce the executive order. He stated: “Since Congress can’t get its act together on HealthCare, I will be using the power of the pen to give great HealthCare to many people – FAST.”
President Trump spoke about how badly Obamacare has damaged us as a nation during his speech. He reflected that we have all been “hearing about the disaster of Obamacare for so long,” and his order reflects his commitment to the people.
“And for a long period of time, since I’ve started running and since I became president of the United States, I just keep hearing ‘repeal and replace, repeal and replace.’ Well, we’re starting that process, and we’re starting it in a very positive manner,” Trump stated.
According to the President, this order is going to cost the Federal government “virtually nothing.” This is also in line with the President’s promise to cut our deficit spending in a huge way.
The order is going to make it so that insurance companies can become more competitive. They are going to be “fighting” to get people to sign up for their health care plans.
President Trump is planning to repeal Obamacare once and for all. Do you support him?
We have been devoid of competition in the health insurance marketplace with Obamacare. Instead, providers were forced to provide health care regardless of the circumstances, and it was causing real damage to the quality of care.
“Insurance companies will be fighting to get every single person signed up, and you will be hopefully negotiating, negotiating, negotiating, and you’ll get such low prices for such great care,” Trump concluded before signing the order into law. We are witnessing the unraveling of Obamacare in real time.
