In the fray of the Donald Trump Jr. controversy over meeting with a Russian lawyer, conservatives were quick to point out that the DNC met with the Ukrainian government to obtain information about Paul Manafort.
As the liberal media pounds away at the hollow allegations of Trump colluding with Russia to win the election, a new story is making its way around the news. A top Democrat has admitted that Democrats working with the Ukrainian government is wrong. (via Hannity.com)
In an interview with ABC News’ Jonathan Karl on the show This Week, Rep. Adam Schiff, a ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, agrees with Republicans that collusion between Democrats and the Ukraine to undermine an opponent’s chances for election is wrong.
Karl started the interview by asking, “I understand Hillary Clinton lost and I understand this effort was not as elaborate as the Russian effort, but was it acceptable, would it have been acceptable for Democrats to accept help from the Ukrainian government in this campaign?” (via Hannity.com)
Schiff surprised everyone by not towing the party line, saying, “No. It wouldn’t be appropriate for the Democrats to accept help from the Ukrainian government.” (via Hannity.com)
This is in reference to the evidence surfacing of Ukraine openly working with the DNC to sabotage Trump in order to see Hillary be elected. Unlike the false “Russiagate” allegations, these factual findings have shown Ukrainian officials affected the presidential race by forcing Paul Manafort’s resignation and fueling the fire of the Trump-Russia claims.
The Ukraine apparently took an interest in Trump’s political campaign when it learned of Trump’s supposed friendly relations with Putin, the Ukraine’s number one enemy. Worried that Trump’s administration would lead to their nation’s demise, officials organized efforts with the DNC to hijack the election.
The effort to cause Manafort’s resignation was spearheaded by the DNC’s recently hired Alexandra Chalupa. Chalupa headed the dirt-digging saying, “I felt there was a Russia connection and that, if there was, that we can expect Paul Manafort to be involved in this election.” (via Politico.com)
The DNC colluded with the Ukraine to influence the election. Are they being hypocritical?
Though Chalupa was engaging in meeting with the Ukraine and seeking to find ties between Trump and Russia via Manafort, the DNC was only moderately interested given their belief that Hillary would win by a landslide. When the votes were counted and Hillary had lost, the DNC started firing up the anti-Trump propaganda and used the claims of Russia’s ties to Trump, fed to them by officials in the Ukraine.
Trump nominee for FBI director, Christopher Wray, said on Thursday before Congress that he would be more than willing to lead the investigations into the Democratic-Ukraine ties and see how deep the collusion goes.
Though the evidence of Ukraine-Democrat collusion is a welcome change to the incessant Trump-Russia claims, it’ll be a long time before we see if anything comes of it. The question is, how much time will the media give attention to the connection between the DNC and the Ukraine, should the FBI actually find evidence of collusion during an investigation?
