Sarah Huckabee Sanders Cries in Front of Reporters as She Reveals What’s on Trump’s Desk

White House Press Secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, is known for her no-nonsense attitude towards reporters. Recently, we all got the chance to see another side of Sanders that many didn’t know existed.

Sanders explained that President Trump had a letter on his desk from a man named Joseph, who had sent the same letter to his son ten years ago. Joseph’s son is currently serving in the military, and is on his second tour of Afghanistan, according to The Daily Caller. The letter reflects a small interaction, but the contents of the letter brought Sanders to tears as she read it in front of reporters.

When Joseph’s son received the letter ten years ago, he was in Iraq. He managed to follow the same path in life as his father by joining the military.

The letter opens, “Please don’t lose sight of your purpose. You’re the only hope and glimmer of light for the good, innocent, men, women, and children that you are protecting.”

It’s easy to see why president Trump keeps this letter on his desk. Immediately, without exploring the body content of the letter, it is inspiring, uplifting, and spellbinding to read.

The letter continues, “Your actions and dedication are seen by people throughout the world as, without a doubt, the most heroic action of any person which can be made.”

Joseph raises a valid point. Not a lot of people are willing to put their lives on the line for their country. You and I are here today because of the many sacrifices our military men and women, including Joseph’s son, have made and continue to make for our country. Sanders recognizes this, and was visibly shaken when confronted with the task of reading this heartfelt letter in front of a room full of people.

During the last paragraph of the letter, Joseph says, “Stand tall, my son, and be steadfast, for it is you who is the defender of freedom. We owe it to the servicemen and women like the master sergeant who have fought in our names in Afghanistan for 17 years and to the families who have watched them go to secure an honorable and lasting outcome to this conflict.

Joseph told Trump that he was a police officer for over 30 years, and that he knows about sacrifices. Joseph has spent his entire life serving the public, and defending his country. Few people can truly appreciate the weight of sacrifice like Joseph and his family. Those who serve our country and protect our freedoms have seen and made sacrifices the likes of which ordinary civilians can hardly appreciate.

Surely that message would be inspiring to someone as patriotic as Trump. It’s refreshing to see Sanders show such true pride in reading the words of a fellow American patriot. Her love for our country and its future is so evident, that she was moved to tears by a letter that spoke of our nation’s greatness, and paid unadulterated homage to those who have made our lives possible.
