Repetitive ‘rambling’ in speech prompts query if VP Harris is ‘actually drunk’

Anybody who has had the misfortune to listen to Vice President Kamala Harris deliver a speech knows that she has a tendency to excessively repeat certain words and phrases for effect, often while dancing around and not addressing the actual underlying issue of what she is purportedly talking about.

Yet another example of this phenomenon occurred Monday while VP Harris was in Louisiana and it prompted at least one conservative media figure to openly ponder if the vice president was “actually drunk” while repetitively rambling through her remarks, according to the Washington Examiner.

In this instance, the vice president uttered the phrase “the significance of the passage of time” no less than four times within a span of about 30 seconds — much in the same way that a student delivering a report on an unread book assignment might cluelessly repeat key catchphrases from a review or summary.

“The significance of the passage of time”

According to a tweet from VP Harris’ official Twitter account, she traveled to Sunset, Louisiana to discuss efforts to expand high-speed broadband internet to all communities across the United States — be they urban, suburban, or rural.

It was during that speech, according to the Examiner, that Harris appeared to get stuck briefly in her own looped “passage of time” while referencing a trip to a library with the state’s Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards.

“We were all doing a tour of the library here and talking about the significance of the passage of time, right?” Harris said. “The significance of the passage of time. So when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time” in terms of what needed to be done to deliver fast and reliable internet access to all American people.

“And there is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children,” she added.

Is she “drunk,” or just “dumb”?

In reaction to that repeated remark from Harris, conservative author and podcaster Liz Wheeler, formerly a One America News host, posted a clip to Twitter and wrote of the vice president, “Is she actually drunk?”

Also weighing in on the repetitious “rambling” of Harris was former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA), who told Fox News host Sean Hannity that the vice president’s style of speech likely explained why her top aides kept resigning — Harris’ national security adviser just resigned following a trip to Europe — and also suggested it was a “strong reason” for everyone to pray for President Joe Biden’s continued health.

“You are reminded again today that that reason is the vice president,” Gingrich said. “She’s not only totally incoherent — you know, [Biden] may or may not have cognitive decline problems at his age, but at her age, she’s just dumb.”

He went on to suggest that Harris’ staffers likely feel “total humiliation” every time their boss delivers a speech, and said, “So I’m not surprised that that particular adviser resigned because it’s very clear that Kamala Harris should never, ever be allowed to leave the country,” if not even the vice presidential residence, the Naval Observatory in Washington D.C.
