BREAKING: Pro-Trump Mayor Rises Up, Exposes What’s Really Going On In Puerto Rico

Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz of San Juan has become a hero to American Leftists because of her nasty anti-Trump rhetoric. One Puerto Rican official is not letting this mayor off the hook, though.

Angel Perez, the mayor of the city of Guaynabo, told the Daily Caller recently that Mayor Cruz does not regularly attend meetings with FEMA or U.S. government officials. This is one reason why Mayor Perez’s experience with the Trump administration has been so different from the one experienced by Mayor Cruz.

“My experience is different. I have been participating in different meetings at the headquarters of FEMA and our government and the help is coming in and right now my experience is different from hers,” Mayor Perez said.

It should be noted that Mayor Cruz is a Democrat, while Mayor Perez is a member of the conservative New Progressive Party.

Mayor Perez further noted: “I’m receiving help from the government, we are receiving assistance from FEMA, I got people over here helping us with applications for the people that have damage in their houses. And we have here in Guaynabo, we have thousands of people that lost partially or totally their houses.”

That position is in stark contrast with Mayor Cruz’s well-publicized words.

Mayor Cruz has publicly stated that she believes that the Trump administration has “abandoned” Puerto Rico.

“We are dying, and you are killing us with the inefficiency, and the bureaucracy,” Mayor Cruz said.

President Trump responded to these words with a barrage of Twitter posts that called out Mayor Cruz and Puerto Rico’s leadership.

“The Mayor of San Juan, who was very complimentary only a few days ago, has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump,” the president tweeted.

The president also added: “…Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help. They…want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort. 10,000 Federal workers now on Island doing a fantastic job.”

President Trump’s words highlight the fact that San Juan has been in terrible shape for decades.

Since 2008, Puerto Rico has been on the verge of bankruptcy. As a result, the U.S. government has mulled the possibility of handing the U.S. territory a massive bailout.

Trump critic Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz of San Juan hasn’t gone to meetings for hurricane recovery. Should she be bailed out her own incompetence?

In essence, Mayor Cruz was one of the people who helped ruin Puerto Rico — now she wants Washington to cover her mistakes. Mayor Perez, who believes in fiscal responsibility, is not about to let Mayor Cruz forget her poor performance.

After all, if Mayor Perez is correct, then Mayor Cruz is a gross hypocrite. One cannot complain about FEMA’s performance or the performance of the federal government when you’ve decided to forgo all emergency meetings. One cannot cast stones at a house that one has never been inside of.

Liberals will continue to lionize Mayor Cruz, but the reality is that she is just another kleptocract who has helped to rob Puerto Rico blind.
