Robert Mueller’s political witch hunt continues unabated. However, some in the press, and in America’s judicial system, are waking up the reality that Mr. Mueller is using thuggish tactics in order to make the Russian collusion story appear true.
Following the recent revelation that former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort had his phone lines tapped by the FBI, Houston lawyer Ton Kirkendall told Fox News that Mueller is using “brass knuckle” tactics in order to squeeze information out of Manafort.
“Here is a United States citizen where the FBI is coming in, picking his lock, and raiding his home in the early morning, over what? It doesn’t matter which side you’re on. It’s just crazy. We’re not the Soviet Union. It’s appalling,” Kirkendall said.
Kirkendall has previously worked with Andrew Weissmann, one of the hand-picked investigators on Mr. Mueller’s team.
Weissmann is also one of the eight Mueller investigators who has donated large sums of money to the Democrat Party. In Mr. Weissmann’s case, he worked at a law firm that donated six times to Barack Obama in 2008. In summation, the law firm gave a pro-Obama political action committee $4,700.
Another aspect of Mueller’s tough tactics against Mr. Manafort has raised eyebrows, namely the leak of a FISA warrant.
Former attorney general Michael Mukasey told Fox News that such actions are very uncommon.
“FISA warrants are obtained for the purpose of gathering intelligence, a purpose that obviously would be defeated by revealing a warrant publicly.”
By all appearances, it looks as if Mr. Mueller is moving to bring charges against Manafort, who is believed to have received donations and other assistance from the former pro-Russian government of the Ukraine.
Given these allegations, if Mr. Manafort is found guilty, then former Obama officials should be prosecuted for helping to engineer a coup in Ukraine. Also, the fact that the machinery of the state can be so powerfully assembled against on private citizen should be a wake-up call to any American voter who supports the expansion of the federal government.
As it stands today, Mueller has clearly overstepped the original boundaries of his investigation. Rather than provide solid proof that Donald Trump and his team cooperated with the Russian government in order to “hack” the election results. So far, no proof has been offered.
Instead, Mueller and his team have been pouring over the financial records of Jared Kushner and Donald Trump, Jr., while also requesting information about some of President Trump’s more controversial decisions, including the firing of former FBI Director James Comey.
Although Mr. Comey himself stated that President Trump himself has never been under investigation, Mueller’s team appears to be considering bringing some sort of charges against President Trump himself. After all, what would be the point of requesting Air Force One transcripts if not to dig up “dirt” on the president.
Sadly, there is no way that Mueller will just walk away from this investigation. He will either be fired, which will start a firestorm among Democrats, or he will railroad an innocent individual.
