Special Counsel Robert Mueller is still looking into rumors that President Trump conspired with Russia to steal the 2016 election. While there is zero evidence showing that this happened, that isn’t stopping Mueller from going after the President’s family.
Now, Mueller is looking into White House Senior Adviser and the President’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, according to The Hill. The claim is that Mueller wants to investigate Kushner’s contact with foreign leaders. It’s unknown how this equates to collusion with Russia to steal the election from Hillary Clinton, which is supposed to be the investigative focus.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Mueller and his 17 Democrat-aligned prosecutors want to see if there is any involvement between Kushner and a United Nations resolution from December 2016 that condemned the Israeli settlement.
At the time, President-elect Trump said that the US should veto the resolution. In Mr. Trump’s opinion, the resolution was “extremely unfair to all Israelis.”
The US was unable to veto the resolution, and the United Nations Security Council passed it through just days later. Newspapers from the area said that Israeli officials reached out to Kushner and former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon.
Allegedly, Mueller’s line of questions has to do with the conversations that took place between Kushner and the Israeli officials. It is worth noting once again that this still does not relate to allegations that President Trump colluded with Russia.
The claims made by Mueller seem nonsensical and conjured, some would suggest. Mueller wants to follow claims that Kushner spoke with foreign leaders prior to President Trump’s transition to the White House.
CNN reported that Kushner turned over all documents to Mueller when the request arose. This time frame is right around the time that Mueller was looking into the termination of his friend and former FBI Director James Comey.
Mueller also seems focused on a meeting between Kushner, Donald Trump Jr., former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, and a Russian lawyer at Trump Tower. According to the reports, the Russian lawyer promised damaging information on then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
Let’s not forget, something much more sinister happened when Hillary Clinton and the DNC met with Fusion GPS to get a fraudulent dossier on President Trump. The dossier, officials admitted, were composed of rumors and gossip, some collected from Russian sources.
When the Democrats were asked about this situation, they replied that it was nothing more than opposition research and unimportant. But when Kushner met with a Russian lawyer for dirt on Hillary Clinton — which he never received — it must somehow indicate Russian collusion in the election, according to Leftists.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation appears to be expanding beyond its charge. Is Mueller overstepping his bounds?
Finally, Kushner is also under fire from Mueller for updating his security clearance disclosure to include the names of more than 100 foreign contacts that he met with in the past. However, part of his job entails meeting with officials and holding discussions to obtain information. It’s unclear where this alleged wrongdoing occurred.
Kushner has denied doing anything wrong or improper leading up to the 2016 election. Mueller appears to be grasping at straws, or as they say, throwing everything at the wall and hoping something sticks. So far, he doesn’t even seem close to a breakthrough.
