Poking fun at the sitting president has been happening since our country was founded. Many in the entertainment industry find it humorous to make fun of the current president, especially when it’s a Republican who is in office, and President Trump is no exception.
While on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, NFL legend Peyton Manning was asked about his recent golfing experience with President Trump. Kimmel kept trying to get Manning to say something negative about Trump, but Manning countered and told Kimmel that it would’ve been “un-American” for him not to accept Trump’s invitation — and that Trump was “very gracious”!
Former Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning played golf with President Trump on Sunday, alongside a number of other representatives, after he was invited by Trump himself for a round on the greens.
“If the president of the United States asks you to go golf, you do it,” said the former quarterback. “I got to tell you, Jimmy, I had a lot of people who told me not to do it…But to me, no matter what your beliefs are, if the president of the United States ever asks you to play golf, you do it. It’s a no-brainer.”
Jimmy Kimmel, as most of the entertainment industry does, tried to get Peyton to say something negative about the president, even asking Manning if Trump cheated.
“No, I counted his strokes…he played it honest,” and said that if he felt Trump was cheating he would have called the president out on it.
Manning continued to speak truth to Kimmel’s audience about who Trump is as a person beyond the media’s misrepresentation of him, saying, “He was a great host, he loves sports, we passed through a number of groups, he was very gracious and took a number of pictures with the groups we passed through.”
“It’s just the experience of playing with the office that was pretty cool to me, and I think that it would almost be un-American to say no.”
“It was a fantastic experience,” said the quarterback.
It’s easy to forget what kind of person our president is behind the constant media harassment and vilification he endures. But beyond the mass media’s reporting exist a plethora of stories about Trump’s good nature.
Last Saturday, while boarding Marine One at a military base, President Trump stopped from boarding, noticing that a Marine’s hat had been blown off by the wind. He then personally stopped and picked up the hat and put it back on the Marine’s head and gave the soldier a couple of friendly pats on the arm. All of this was something he didn’t need to do but did so anyway. (via Daily Caller)
As stories about the president’s real personality circulate behind the mass media’s misrepresentations, sooner or later there’s going to be a backlash for this deception. Americans’ trust in the mass media continues to sink to a new low, and people are going to stop taking seriously what the liberal media and Holly — a true “entertainment complex” — has to say at some point.
Peyton Manning’s statements should help clear up the truth of what kind of person our president is, especially to the more liberal audience that Kimmel tends to cater to.
