Fox News Legal Expert Gregg Jarrett gave his opinion in an interview with Sean Hannity that should have some Democrats worried.
According to Jarrett, he believes the investigation into the Uranium One scandal is going to yield damning facts for many politicians involved. He told Hannity, “Somebody’s got to go to jail over this.”
The Uranium One deal was a controversial approval of the Obama’s administration that granted Russia access to 20 percent of the US’ potential uranium supply. Now, new evidence shows that Russia had been using bribes to push the deal through, and the FBI and other intelligence agencies were aware of it before the deal was accepted and said nothing. Additionally, the Clintons may have benefited handsomely by accepting the bribes.
On Wednesday, the Justice Department announced that a gag order had been lifted on a former FBI informant involved in the investigation. Without the gag order, he is now allowed to speak with Congress about the entire affair.
This could spell disaster for a number of individuals, according to Jarrett. He believes those most in danger are, “Hillary Clinton, anybody at the DNC… James Comey in particular, because you know, he may have abused his office”
According to Fox News, Hillary Clinton is currently held under suspicion given that her role as Secretary of State was influential in deciding the Uranium One deal, while millions of dollars flowed into the Clinton Foundation from parties interested in seeing the deal approved.
The former head of the FBI, Robert Mueller, is also in hot water given that his agency was likely aware of the bribery and extortion by Russia to affect the deal, yet seemingly chose not to tell anyone.
President Trump told reporters that the Uranium One deal is where the “real Russia story” lies. “That’s your real Russia story. Not a story where they talk about collusion and there was none it was a hoax. Your real Russia story is uranium,” the President said.
Hillary Clinton is claiming that the scrutiny into the Uranium One deal is meant to distract from what she believes is the real issue, President Trump colluding with Russia, and nothing more. According to Clinton, “The closer the investigation about real Russian ties between Trump associates and real Russians…the more they want to just throw mud on the wall. I’m their favorite target, me and President Obama.”
Yet the reveal of an informant with intimate knowledge in the case could make for an interesting development in the investigation. It also begs the question of why the informant was slapped with a gag order by Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch in the first place, and if his testimony could have altered the initial investigation into the Uranium One deal.
Justice for the Uranium One Deal is right around the corner. Are you in favor?
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) sent out a tweet demanding that a Special Counsel should be formed to investigate the issue more thoroughly, “Whoever in the DOJ is capable w authority to appoint a special counsel shld do so to investigate Uranium One “whoever” means if u aren’t recused.”
Given the new evidence and an informant with inside information of Russia’s attempts to bribe their way into the Uranium One deal, an investigation could prove disastrous for those involved. This is especially damaging if it’s revealed that they knowingly accepted bribes or covered up the criminal activity of the Russians before approving the deal.
