Love him or hate him, President Trump’s impact on American politics is undeniable. The 2016 presidential election proved that the people still control Washington DC and that a political outsider is capable of being elected the most powerful man in the world.
Now, patriots like Kid Rock are hoping to expand the political movement started by Donald Trump when he announced his candidacy in 2015. Kid Rock, who is toying with running for senator in Michigan, is registering people to vote at his concerts, according to Gateway Pundit. With the support of Kid Rock, President Trump’s victory in 2020 will be even larger!
“Kid Rock is registering voters at his concerts. People of all political views should register to vote and make their voices heard!” read the official Kid Rock twitter. Kid Rock’s push to register new voters has been dubbed “Rock the Vote.”
Earlier this year, musician Kid Rock announced that he was considering running against Democrat incumbent Debbie Stabenow for her Michigan Senate seat. The musician has launched the website kidrockforsenate.com to evaluate the level of genuine support for his campaign.
In the meantime, Kid Rock has focused his attention on the “Rock the Vote” effort. On his Senate website, Kid Rock wrote, “During this time while exploring my candidacy for US Senate, I am creating a 501(c)(4) – a non-profit organization for the promotion of voter registration. Not only can I raise money for this critical cause, but I can help get people registered to vote at my shows.”
“Since the announcement, the media has speculated this was a ploy to sell shirts or promote something.” Rock continued, “I can tell you, I have no problem selling Kid Rock shirts and yes, I absolutely will use this media circus to sell/promote whatever I d*** well please (many other politicians are doing the same thing, they just feed you a bunch of bull**** about it). But either way, money raised at this time through the sale of merchandise associated with this very possible campaign will go towards our ‘register to vote’ efforts.”
Since announcing his possible intention to enter into politics in July, Kid Rock has received considerable support from Michigan voters and he is polling well in a hypothetical general election.
Representative Sean Duffy (R-WI), has come out in support of Kid Rock for Senate, writing on Twitter that he is, “Looking forward to having @KidRock in Congress to help #MAGA The GOP cloakroom will never be the same #BornFree.”
According to The Daily Caller, recent polling by the Trafalgar Group reveals that if Kid Rock opted to run for Senate it would be a very tight race. According to their polling, Kid Rock would easily win the GOP nomination and would compete in a close contest against Debbie Stabenow.
Kid Rock is currently the front-runner of potential Republican candidates, garnering 49.62 percent of support. The runner-up is “undecided” which has 28.10 percent support.
General election polls predict that incumbent Sen. Stabenow would win the election with 43.37 percent support. Kid Rock is at 41.17 percent in early polling. However, when you include voters who have not decided but are leaning towards a particular candidate, Kid Rock pulls ahead with 48.6 percent compared to Sen. Stabenow with 46.09 percent.
Whether he runs for Senate or not, Kid Rock is helping keep President Trump’s desire to “Make America Great Again” alive by his efforts to help people register to vote.
