The ideological left has become so beholden to the “T” faction of the LGBT+ community that it has, for all intents and purposes, utterly abandoned the women that it once claimed to champion above all else in favor of the transgender crowd.
That was made painfully clear Tuesday when Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson said she was incapable of defining the word “woman” when asked to do so by Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) during Jackson’s confirmation hearings, the New York Post reported.
The rather stunning moment quickly went viral on social media and spawned an incredible backlash as well as debate on what, exactly, defines a “woman” and why Jackson was either unable or unwilling to answer Blackburn’s seemingly simple question.
“I’m not a biologist.”
“Can you provide a definition for the word ’woman’?”Blackburn asked. After quizzically repeating back that question, Jackson replied, “I can’t.”
When pressed as to why not, Jackson elaborated that “Not in this context. I’m not a biologist.”
Getting directly to the heart of the matter, Blackburn pondered, “The meaning of the word woman is so unclear and controversial that you can’t give me a definition?”
The exchange continued on from there and the senator eventually said, “The fact that you can’t give me a straight answer about something as fundamental as what a woman is underscores the dangers of the kind of progressive education that we are hearing about.”
Blackburn then referenced the recent incident in which a biological male who claims to be a transgender female-dominated and defeated his biologically female competitors in an NCAA women’s championship swim meet — but Jackson danced around that issue and declined to directly address it.
Townhall reported on the absurd exchange and noted the incredible irony in the fact that Judge Jackson, who was admittedly nominated by President Joe Biden first and foremost based on her being a black woman, was unable or unwilling to even attempt to define what a “woman” like herself is.
The Federalist also highlighted the irony of the exchange and wrote, “Jackson apparently can’t define what makes a woman a woman or a man a man, but somehow she’s supposed to be trusted to faithfully interpret the Constitution and adjudicate Americans’ rights from a seat on the Supreme Court bench.”
“The last thing Americans need is their judicial line of defense to be even more corrupted by someone who refuses to acknowledge what a woman is,” the outlet continued. “Democrats, the corrupt corporate media, and even some of the GOP establishment are fighting tooth and nail and even lying to push for Jackson’s confirmation, but the nominee’s lenience on child porn offenders, ties to and endorsements from the abortion industry, and inability to answer the simplest of questions should disqualify her from assuming the bench.
Conservative pundit Ben Shapiro perhaps best summed it all up with a tweeted clip of the exchange captioned with a quote from George Orwell’s frighteningly prescient “1984” dystopian novel: “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”
