Many Americans were baffled in 2016 by the FBI’s unwillingness to treat Hillary’s illegal use of a private email server as criminal conduct.
Conservatives in the House have decided that something needs to be done about it, and that the time for action is long overdue. An amendment has been proposed that would force the Department of Justice to conduct an investigation into former FBI Director James Comey and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch. (via Breitbart)
The three men leading the charge are Representatives Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), and Jim Jordan (R-OH).
The amendment they’ve drafted is designed to produce the documents and evidence of Lynch’s intentional deception of Americans when she ordered Comey to refer to the investigation into Hillary Clinton as a “matter” instead of a criminal investigation. The amendment provides Attorney General Jeff Sessions the leeway he needs to pursue the investigation and seeks to obtain a wide array of information on Comey’s handling of the matter, leaks to the media originating from him, and other instances of misconduct. Representative Jordan believes Democrats shouldn’t be opposed to the amendment considering they have probed into the matter themselves. “For the past several years, Democrats have obstructed justice and blocked every Congressional investigation imaginable. Now they want to investigate? Ok, let’s investigate!” Jordan said in an email. (via Breitbart)
He’s referring to a statement Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) made in June about her concern over Lynch’s order to Comey to refer to the investigation as a “matter.” She made the call for an investigation, saying, “I think we need to know more about that and there’s only one way to know about it and that’s to have the Judiciary Committee take a look at that.” (via The Blaze)
The ambitious investigation seeks to expose a wide array of corruption scandals that have been simmering in the background. The representatives hope that its creation will expose the corruption of Hillary Clinton’s time as secretary of state and how liberals in the White House sought to cover up a number of different issues over the years.
Representative Gaetz stated that his constituents are voicing the concerns of many Americans when they want answers, saying, “My constituents ask the same question that so many people want to know the answer to, and that is why have all these investigations stopped? There was a whole lot of fire there and they just seemed to end when the new administration came in…I think this is really important to get back to those basics and find out what happened and so that’s why I think it’s important.” (via Breitbart)
House representatives are trying to pass an amendment that would force an investigation into James Comey and Loretta Lynch. Do you support this move?
Representative Biggs said he believes the amendment is something Republicans owe to Americans. “I do think we as a party owe it to the constituents – the people who elect us – to really be focused… we need to be focused on the agenda…” (via Breitbart)
No one is sure about the amendment’s longevity when it goes before House Judiciary Chairman Representative Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), but some are confident it will see life soon. Representative Mark Meadows (R-NC) believes the amendment is a positive move and will be supported by many, saying, “The American people are tired of focusing on Russia and ignoring some of the inconsistencies of the previous administration.” (via Breitbart)
If the amendment is passed, Americans who believe Comey and Lynch did not properly investigate Hillary Clinton last year will finally get some semblance of justice. No one’s last name or public stature should prevent them from being properly investigated, and this amendment will finally make headway in getting the answers Americans were denied by the FBI last year.
