One of the most controversial stories in our current news cycle revolves around the repeal and replace of Obamacare. Herman Cain and Judge Jeanine recently appeared on Fox News to air their grievances to the GOP.
According to the National Review, the interview starts with Cain making a bold statement that has been on the minds of Americans ever since the most recent failure to repeal ObamaCare. Cain stated that McCain is the biggest danger on Capitol Hill right now. “I respect him for his military service. But, I do not respect him for stabbing the American people in the back,” Cain exclaimed.
They are, of course, referring to John McCain’s decision to appear on the Senate floor, even after hearing news of his brain cancer, to cast the deciding vote in the repeal and replace plan. He shot it down, and as many people have stated, this was an insult to the American people.
A great point was brought up by Cain during his interview with the judge. He stated that, “John McCain is not the Senate majority leader and he consistently shows that he resents the president of the United States, Donald Trump.”
McCain does seem to be holding a grudge of sorts against the president. Many wonder if Trump’s comments two years ago about liking people who don’t get captured is playing a part in McCain’s decision.
McCain stated that he wanted to be one of the ones “leading the fight to stop Obamacare,” but when it came down to making a decision that would have pleased President Trump, and more importantly, the American people, he changed his vote.
It was an attempt to add insult to injury, knowing that a select few other members of the GOP were going to vote against the repeal and replace of the disastrous Affordable Care Act. There is no other excuse for his behavior.
McCain even proposed that there should be a full repeal of ObamaCare, as well as a replacement that allows for a “free-market” approach to health care in America again. Why would he (McCain) bother making this suggestion if he was going to shoot it down under President Trump?
During the interview with Herman Cain and Judge Pirro, Cain went on to call out other members of the GOP that are causing serious issues for the American people. He said that everyone who voted against the repeal, including McCain, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), and Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), care more about their egos than the suffering of the people they are supposed to represent.
President Trump spoke in disgust about the decisions of John McCain, Mitch McConnell, and others regarding the health care repeal and replace failure. In a tweet, he even called out McConnell for not getting things done.
The tweet reads, “Mitch, get back to work and put Repeal & Replace, Tax Reform & Cuts and a great infrastructure Bill on my desk for signing. You can do it!” The message here is clear: get back to work.
Now the country watches and waits to see if we can get rid of ObamaCare once and for all. Ridding the nation of the structurally unsound bill would do wonders for our country as a whole, and Cain and Pirro hit the nail on the head.
