Mary Jane Thomas, the wife of country music’s Hank Williams Jr., has passed away, Fox News reports.
It is unknown exactly how old Thomas was at the time of her passing. Fox reports that “she was in her late 50s or early 60s.”
Thomas’ death has been confirmed by her family, who has asked for privacy at this time, according to TMZ. But, what we don’t know for sure is exactly why Thomas died.
TMZ reports that Thomas’ family was “told the early indication is it appears she suffered a complication — possibly a blood clot — following a medical procedure.”
Further specifics, though, such as about the medical procedure that may have led to the clot, have not been provided.
The incident, according to Fox, occurred on Tuesday in Florida.
The outlet reports: “Thomas was transported from Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa in Jupiter, Florida, to a local hospital around 5 p.m. local time Tuesday, where she was pronounced dead, a spokesperson for the area’s police department told Fox News Digita.”
This, unfortunately, is far from the only tragedy to hit the Williams family.
At the time of Thomas’s passing, she and Williams – the country music singer known, among other things, for his Monday Night Football hit – had been married for over three-dacades, after tying the knot in 1990. The couple raised two children together: Katie Williams-Dunning and Samuel Williams.
A couple of years ago, in 2020, Williams-Dunning died in a car crash in Tennessee. Tyler Dunning, her husband, was in the car at the time of the accident. But, he managed to survive after recovering from the critical injuries that he received.
To go with these tragedies, there has also been some controversy in the Williams family. Williams’ son Samuel recently put out a video claiming that Williams placed both him and Holly Williams, his half-sister, in a conservatorship following Williams-Dunning’s death. The point of the video was to ask to be taken out of the arrangement. There has yet to be an update on the situation.
Mary Jane Thomas, according to reports, is survived by her husband, Hank Williams Jr., their son, Samuel Williams, and by three grandchildren.
