Despite the constant attacks and controversy advanced by liberals that led to a restructuring of the network’s schedule, Fox News has managed to consistently offer top primetime cable news shows. The network is likely to solidify that leadership with the announcement of their latest conservative host.
As The Daily Caller reported Tuesday, Fox News officially announced it will add Mark Levin to their television lineup. Levin will host Life, Liberty & Levin, beginning in February 2018. The show will air at 10 PM on Sundays.
Fox News’ official statement, stated that the show will, “explore the fundamental values and principles undergirding American society, culture, politics, and current events, and their relevance to the nation’s future and everyday lives of citizens.”
Mark Levin hosts The Mark Levin Show, the third highest rated nationally syndicated radio show. He is a constitutional attorney who worked in the Reagan administration, serving as chief of staff for Attorney General Ed Meese. He founded the media company, Conservative Review, and also hosts a show on CRTV, an emerging conservative television network.
He is a renowned author of political books, with seven titles named New York Times Best-Sellers. Some of his top titles include: Men In Black: How The Supreme Court Is Destroying America, and Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto. His most recent title is Rediscovering Americanism and the Tyranny of Progressivism.
Levin is also the recipient of numerous awards, which include the American Conservative Union’s Ronald Reagan Award, the Media Research Center’s William F. Buckley Award for Media Excellence, and the Gene Burns Memorial Award for Freedom of Speech.”
Although Levin was an ardent supporter of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), during the 2016 Republican presidential primary race, he eventually — and reluctantly — endorsed Donald Trump despite prior harsh criticism waged against the nominee. However, his analysis and commentary on the job performance of the Trump administration and Congress, yielding both praise and criticism, focus on adhering to constitutional principles.
Levin’s hour-long show on Fox News should appeal to committed conservative voters. It reportedly “will feature Levin’s lively in-depth and long-form interviews and powerful debate style with consequential guests covering history, philosophy, and economics. Levin will also capitalize on his extraordinary knowledge and compelling perspective as a constitutional lawyer to discuss the American founding, the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution.”
Suzanne Scott, President of Programming at Fox News, stated: “Mark’s passion for the principles found in the Constitution and success in talk radio has made him a distinct figure in the media landscape. We look forward to adding this spirited program to our weekend lineup.”
Matt Drudge tweeted on Tuesday morning of the announcement, saying, “Mark Levin set for a weekly TV show on FOXNEWS! Levin, who has sold millions of books and hosts a top-rated radio broadcast, was warmly received at White House last week during meets with TrumpPence. New FOX show will feature legal, political, social commentary. Expect fireworks!”
Mark Levin is joining the FOX News line-up. Are you a supporter of Mark Levin?
In response to the announcement, Levin said: “I am honored to join FOX News, a network I have enjoyed appearing on as a guest for quite some time. As a proud citizen of the United States, I am delighted to share the significance of American values with such a wide audience and look forward to engaging with important guests about crucial topics.”
Mark Levin has made numerous appearances on Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News, where he evidenced sound constitutionally-driven arguments. His own show should be an interesting addition to the network’s lineup and pull in more conservative viewers to the network.
