Do you remember how many liberal actors, comedians, and other Hollywood personalities promised that they would move to Canada or somewhere else if Trump won the 2016 election? Unfortunately, few followed through with their promises, despite Donald Trump Jr. even offering to pay for their tickets.
One liberal entertainer is making good on her promise, and is leaving America for good. Madonna announced that she was leaving the country she was born and raised in to live in Lisbon, Portugal instead. The “Material Girl” said she feels “very creative and alive” there. The artist who once threatened to blow up the White House is someone that we won’t need to deal with anymore, according to FOX News.
“The energy of Portugal is so inspiring. I feel very creative and alive here, and I look forward to working on my film LOVED and making New Music!!! This will be the next Chapter in My Book!” the artist posted.
Of course, some feel there might be other reasons behind the 59-year-old’s decision. Among other things, she has visited the country with her adopted son on many occasions. Her son also joined the Benfica football team youth academy located in Lisbon.
According to an interview conducted by Harper’s Bazaar, Madonna said that she’s “always felt oppressed” in our society. “I’ve created a very unconventional family. I have lovers who are three decades younger than me. This makes people very uncomfortable. I feel like everything that I do makes people feel really uncomfortable.”
Whether or not this degree of discomfort is justified never seems to be a question that pops into her mind, as her provocative performances and lifestyle decisions could make her a poor example for the young women of our country.
The one thing that made people feel truly uncomfortable was when Madonna threatened to blow up the White House at a Women’s March. She told the crowd that she “thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House,” and made other incendiary comments.
“To our detractors that insist that this march will never add up to anything, f**k you,” she said.
Of course, once she came under fire from critics, she immediately changed her tune, claiming she “spoke in metaphor and I share two ways of looking at things – one was to be hopeful, and one was to feel anger and outrage, which I have personally felt.”
Conservatives across the nation were outraged at this comment, with Newt Gingrich saying that she “ought to be arrested,” and that the liberal musician was part of “an emerging left-wing fascism.”
Of course, if you ask how, exactly, someone is “being oppressed,” “getting their rights violated,” or why they “feel threatened” by a Republican like Trump in the White House, you don’t get any real answers.
As the majority of liberal Hollywood continues to live in their enclosed, sheltered bubbles of wealth and progressive conformity, they couldn’t be more disconnected with the reality of our nation’s struggles. Americans chose Trump for many good reasons – none of which Hollywood will ever understand.
