These past few weeks have been rough for Harvey Weinstein, the former Hollywood mogul has fallen from grace as several women and men have accused him of sexual harassment or sexual assault.
This week, three women came forward to accuse Weinstein of a bigger crime than sexual harassment. Asia Argento, Lucia Evans, and an unnamed third have accused Weinstein of raping them, according to The New Yorker.
Asia Argento, the daughter of famous Italian horror film director Dario Argento, claims that Weinstein began assaulting her 1999 while she worked on the film B. Monkey for Miramax.
According to Argento, a producer brought her up to Weinstein’s hotel room under the false belief that there would be a party there.
When Argento realized that it was just her and Weinstein in the room, it was too late.
“He asks me to give a massage. I was, like, ‘Look, man, I am no f****** fool.’ But, looking back, I am a f****** fool. And I am still trying to come to grips with what happened,” Argento said.
Argento reluctantly gave Weinstein a massage, but that was not enough for the villain. During the massage, Weinstein performed oral sex on the starlet, despite the fact that she repeatedly told him “No.”
“I said, ‘No, no, no’ . . . It’s twisted. A big fat man wanting to eat you. It’s a scary fairy tale.”
Evans’ story is much the same. Like Ashley Judd, all three women indicate that one of Weinstein’s favorite methods of sexual torture is to force women to massage him while he’s naked.
Other women have accused Weinstein of exposing himself to them and masturbating in front of them.
A 2015 recording from a New York Police Department sting operation has Weinstein admitting to groping the breasts of Italian model Ambra Battilana Gutierrez. In the recording, Weinstein makes such behavior sound normal.
More shocking than all of this is how Hollywood has managed to cover all of this up for decades. And women haven’t been the only victims either.
Terry Crews, a former NFL football player, took to Twitter to accuse of the high-level executive of grabbing his privates during a meeting. A year ago, Elijah Wood said that pedophiles are common in Hollywood, and now that Weinstein has been exposed, many people are wondering who is the next to be outed.
The power of Hollywood to suppress information is still a problem, though. For example, it was recently noted that a report about Weinstein’s history was in the hands of NBC News in August, but the network passed on the story. In one instance, Matt Damon may have helped to “kill” a story about Weinstein way back in 2004.
Allegations against Harvey Weinstein continue to roll in. Should those who received donations from him return them?
Besides Hollywood, Weinstein’s friends in the Democrat Party have covered for him for decades. Michelle Obama even praised Weinstein in the White House. Weinstein gave thousands of dollars to both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, while also giving thousands of dollars in donations to Congressional Democrats. Only now, as the scandals have come to light, have soon Democrats decided to give the money back.
This could be evidence of too little, too late. After all, it seems to have been an open secret that Weinstein was a predator, and yet Democrats and media executive still covered for him and partied with him.
