There has been a whirlwind of hate coming from the Democrats and even some Republicans in Congress since Donald Trump won the presidential election. President Trump’s supporters are now speaking out against these traitors.
Lou Dobbs appeared on his Fox Business Network show to speak out against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), for his recent comments regarding the president. “He is blaming the president of the United States for expecting the United States Senate and Congress to pass a budget, tax reform, to repeal Obamacare, which they promised for seven years…and he calls those unrealistic expectations,” Dobbs exclaimed.
Dobbs noted that the only person who is holding true to their promises is Trump. All the other elected federal officials seem to have personal interests on their minds, instead of their constituents’ interests.
Dobbs said McConnell is trying to blame Trump for his own shortcomings. Trump didn’t bring anything new to the table, though the reactions from McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) would imply otherwise.
Dobbs alluded to Speaker Ryan being a problem as well. “Let’s start with ‘Ditch Mitch.’ And Ryan, don’t get the idea that means you are off the hook either. We got plans for you too,” he said.
The frustration from Trump supporters is certainly warranted. The GOP cannot agree on a simple repeal of Obamacare, let alone tax reforms or a budget.
Trump tweeted his frustration Wednesday morning. He stated, “Senator Mitch McConnell said I had ‘excessive expectations,’ but I don’t think so. After seven years of hearing Repeal & Replace, why not done?”
It is a fair question. Why are people like McConnell acting as though repealing and replacing Obamacare is an insane notion and one they have never considered? They ran firmly against Obamacare for seven years, as Dobbs noted.
According to Fox News, even Mike Pence is disgusted with the way his former congressional colleagues are handling the health care repeal, as well as their delays on other important issues. “Inaction is not an option. Congress needs to step up. Congress needs to do their job, and Congress needs to do their job now,” Pence stated during an address at a National Retail Federation event in Washington.
It is clear that the American people have decided what they want from Trump, and he is more than happy to deliver. However, Congress and the Senate are fighting back every step of the way.
Republican leaders are failing the promises they made for the past seven years. Is it time to look for new leadership for the party?
Besides Dobbs, Trump, and Pence, there are Republican senators who are fed up with McConnell’s blame game. Fox News reports, Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), said that he fully supports the repeal and replace of the Affordable Care Act because people deserve to have a choice in their health insurance, as well as the affordability and quality of care that they were originally promised.
Americans should be aware of the shameful conduct of Mitch McConnell and the rest of the Republicans who are resisting what they’ve been preaching for years. One can only hope they will heed Dobbs’s message, as well as the messages of everyone else who speaks out, and make the right choice for the people.
