It doesn’t make sense how the media can try to spin President Trump as an incompetent president because, in truth, he has shown a level of discernment and wisdom that is truly uncanny.
In light of the recent efforts to take down the Robert E. Lee statue in Charlottesville, Virginia, Trump predicted that a precedent would be set for taking down other statues of historical figures. It looks like Trump outplayed the Left again. Just one day after his prediction, The Daily Wire reported that one pastor in Chicago sent a letter demanding the renaming of Washington and Jackson parks, which commemorate the former presidents–key figures in American history and known slave owners.
On Tuesday, Trump warned the American people that removing historically important Confederate statues would kick start a dangerous trend in removing other historic monuments from the public square that some perceive as “offensive.” He explicitly predicted that our first president would be next on the historical chopping block. “Will George Washington now lose his status? Are we going to take down statues of George Washington?” Trump asked the media.
The response? He was viciously chastised by the media for making such a supposedly erroneous claim–one that turned out to be correct after all.
A local pastor in Chicago is calling on Mayor Rahm Emanuel to rename parks named after George Washington and Andrew Jackson because they were slave owners. The pastor also wants all statues of them removed.
WGN TV reported that Bishop James Dukes sent a letter asking Mayor Emanuel and the Chicago Park District to rename Washington and Jackson Parks, named after former presidents George Washington and Andrew Jackson. Both are important historical figures and were slave owners.
“When my children and grandchildren walk through these parks and say, ‘Grandfather, wasn’t he a slave owner?’ how do I explain that and how do I reconcile that with their views of what heroes are?” said Dukes.
Although Chicago’s mayor has yet to respond, Dukes will be meeting with a city official to discuss the process for changing the names of the parks.
This isn’t the first time Trump has predicted how things will turn out. In fact, in an interview with Oprah almost 30 years ago, Trump predicted many of the problems we are facing in our country today. In the video, it’s clear that he has been saying the same things for almost three decades – a blatant repudiation of the liberal claims that he’s a political opportunist.
Activists are calling upon Chicago mayor to rename Washington and Jackson Parks. Should they be renamed?
Trump’s propensity to report the truth in the face of opposition is another trait that the liberal media despises. He spotlighted the role that far-left groups such as Antifa and Black Lives Matter played in instigating the violence at Charlottesville–a fairer representation of the situation which, while true, earned him the scorn of the media.
As mainstream news outlets continue to squeeze every last drop of political juice from the events at Charlottesville, President Trump’s sense of discernment has stayed razor sharp.
Perhaps that’s why liberals are so loath to appreciate these qualities in him. It’s also probably why he’s always one move ahead of them.
