The Democratic party’s name has become synonymous with corruption and misbehavior, as many shocking scandals have come out in so short a time regarding the misconduct of the organization.
In what must surely be one of the most shocking scandals this year, an IT aide to Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz was arrested Monday after he attempted to board a flight to Pakistan after wiring $283,000 from the Congressional Federal Credit Union, only to be caught by the FBI. However, this scandal is a story “the press doesn’t want out there.” (via Breitbart)
Imran Awan, a Pakistani-born congressional IT aide, attempted to flee the country hours after news came out that he was the target of an FBI investigation, whose agents apprehended him at the airport.
This update comes as a backdrop of a much larger crime.
The Awan family was collecting salaries as IT administrators for U.S. House Democrats long after they were no longer working for them, all the while involving themselves in a series of bizarre schemes. The family was engaged in a laundry list of crimes, including extortion, bankruptcy fraud, tax fraud, and insurance fraud in a gigantic effort to funnel millions of dollars overseas back to Pakistan.
Despite being suspected in a cyber security probe for the past few months, Schultz refused to fire Awan and even threatened police chief Matthew R. Vederosa if he didn’t give back evidence obtained during a criminal investigation.
In addition, Awan had access to all the files and emails of dozens of highly placed Democratic members of Congress, as well as the password to Wasserman Schultz’s iPad used for Democratic National Committee business- something that many suspect might be the reason why Schultz hadn’t fired him yet. It’s possible he has information about her that could jeopardize her political career.
As the Democratic Party is reeling from this massive investigation, the media has remained nearly silent on the matter and its significance. Conversely, the mainstream media’s relentless thirst for Russia collusion evidence is resulting in coverage that far exceeds the reality of the situation. If the media were truly interested in a story of collusion, the Awan family scandal would be perfect for them to cover.
The media has largely remained silent on the Awan family scandal. Do you trust the media to report the news truthfully?
“Watching news outlets go out of their way to hide a potentially huge Democratic scandal is almost funny…CBS covered it for all of 37 seconds and, of course, ended the story with their famous catchphrase anti-Muslim bigotry because that’s the allegation from his lawyer,” wrote Dan Gainor, vice president of Business and Culture at the Media Research Center. “This is a story that the press would generally like. But instead…ABC and NBC ignored it completely in the first 24 hours.” (via Breitbart)
Mark Steyn put it best in his interview with Tucker Carlson when he said, “Everything they’ve looked for and failed to find in the Russia investigation is, in fact, going on under their noses in this particular story. We have computer interference…a powerful political figure attempting to interfere with a federal investigation. We have criminal elements; this guy was arrested trying to flee the country. We have interference from foreign politicians, given $100,000 by a prominent Iraqi politician…everything that they have been looking for in the Russia investigation and failed to find is actually staring them in the face.” (via Fox News)
It’s no wonder trust in the mainstream media is so low. Until the media stops censoring the news they produce and publish in an attempt to control the narrative surrounding the White House and politics in general, American citizens will not have any faith in their ability to tell the truth in their reporting.
