In an apparent effort to help Hillary Clinton win the election, a Democrat college student will go to prison for voter fraud.
Trump barely lost to Hillary in the highly contested state of Virginia. With the recent conviction of student Andrew Spieles, it has been officially confirmed through his confession that he registered deceased individuals to vote for the Democratic Party. (via CBS 6)
Spieles, a James Madison University student living in Harrisonburg, Virginia, was sentenced to 100 to 120 days in prison when it was discovered he submitted 18 registration forms with the names and birth dates of dead people for the organization Harrisonburg Votes, a Democrat-allied group.
A U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesperson said that Spieles was responsible for registering voters for the Democratic campaign in Harrisonburg. According to the spokesperson, Spieles was “directed to combine his registration numbers with those of another individual because their respective territories overlapped. After filling out a registration form for a voter, Spieles entered the information into a computer system.” The registration form would then be delivered by hand to the Registrar’s Office.
It was at the Registrar’s Office that the fraud was discovered, when a worker there recognized a name on one of the falsified forms as belonging to the deceased father of a Rockingham County judge. The registrar’s office started examining other registrations and discovered “multiple instances of similarly falsified forms”.
“Some were in the names of deceased individuals while other bore incorrect middle names, birth dates, and social security numbers,” said the spokesperson in regard to the forms. Once the inconsistencies and false information had been detected, the FBI and the Harrisonburg Police Department were contacted to investigate.
Once the fraud was traced to Spieles and the evidence of his involvement grew, Spieles eventually caved and pled guilty on Monday. “Spieles later admitted that he prepared the false voter registration forms by obtaining the name, age, and address of individuals from ‘walksheets’ provided to him by the Virginia Democratic Party, fabricating a birth date based on the ages listed in the walk sheet, and fabricating the social security numbers. Spieles admitted that he created all 18 fraudulent forms himself and that no one else participated in the crime,” said the spokesperson.
What’s striking about this discovery is the insistence of some on the left that voter fraud favoring Hillary didn’t exist and was a fabrication of Republicans to restrict voter rights. While 18 falsified forms is admittedly a small-scale fraud, it’s interesting to note that there has been very little coverage of the matter by mainstream media and that many Democrats are sweeping the issue under the rug.
Of course, when you compare the 18 fraudulent votes to the 212-thousand Hillary won by in Virginia, you instantly know that this would have hardly swung the state in Trump’s favor. But Spieles’ crime was still a gross violation of the law and it compromised the integrity of our election. It would be interesting to see how many other instances of voter fraud occurred favoring the Democrats in various elections. You never know how many people might be voting for them from the grave.
