CNN can no longer pretend that it is a non-partisan source for news.
CNN chef Anthony Bourdain is in hot water after telling a TMZ reporter that he would assassinate President Trump if given the chance. In an impromptu interview, Anthony Bourdain was asked what he would serve for dinner if he was catering a peace summit between President Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. “Hemlock,” was Bourdain’s smug response, as reported by Breitbart.
Hemlock is a highly poisonous plant. Essentially, Anthony Bourdain said he would assassinate President Trump and Kim Jong-un if given the chance.
This is not the first time that Anthony Bourdain, host of CNN‘s Parts Unknown, publicly attacked President Trump.
During last year’s presidential campaign, Anthony Bourdain courted controversy when he declared that he would never sit down for a meal with Donald Trump. However, the premiere of season 8 of Parts Unknown featured Bourdain sitting down for a meal with then-President Obama. Clearly, Bourdain is just another CNN employee allowing his personal opinion to interfere with on-air responsibilities.
After the 2016 election, Bourdain made his opinion of President Trump clear. In a post-election interview, Bourdain said he would “never eat in his restaurant,” adding, “I have utter contempt for him, utter and complete contempt.”
The latest outburst against President Trump by a CNN employee continues to undermine the cable channel’s claim of being a non-partisan source for news. While cable channels Fox News and MSNBC are open and honest about their political bias, CNN insists that they are above partisan politics. Yet, CNN employees seem to share a seething hatred for President Trump.
Earlier this year, self-identified comedian Kathy Griffin was ousted from CNN after posing with a fake version of the severed and bloodied head of President Trump. The provocative photo shoot made the CNN host’s opinion obvious for the world to see and Griffin’s taste for blood was widely condemned.
In another controversial incident earlier this year, Reza Aslan, host of CNN‘s Believers, had the second season of his show canceled after releasing a derogatory tweet comparing the president to excrement, reports The Hill. “This piece of s*** is not just an embarrassment to America and a stain on the presidency. He’s an embarrassment to humankind.” The CNN host tweeted about President Trump.
CNN was forced to act fast and reprimand Aslan, as it was still attempting to restore its image in the wake of the Kathy Griffin incident.
CNN chef Anthony Bourdain said that he would assassinate President Trump if given the chance. Should he be fired?
Yet, the largest hit to CNN came from the secret recordings of James O’Keefe. O’Keefe was able to embed a number of spies inside CNN to document how the network operates behind the scenes.
Last June, O’Keefe released a secret camera video featuring CNN associate producer Jimmy Carr. In the video, Carr admitted that the vast majority of CNN employees despise President Trump. “On the inside,” Carr said, “we all recognize he is a clown, that he is hilariously unqualified for this, he’s really bad at this, and that he does not have America’s best interests…We recognize he’s just f****** crazy,” adding that “90% of [CNN producers] are on board with just the fact that he’s crazy.”
These examples, along with the latest news of Bourdain’s statements, make it clear that CNN can’t be trusted as a fair and unbiased news source.
