The swamp needs to be drained.
The deep state is flexing its muscles as it tests the limits of its newfound power. It’s now utilizing the CIA to reject Trump’s presidency by denying security clearance to his chosen advisers. (via Federalistpapers.org)
The intelligence community and Trump haven’t gotten along very well. Since his inauguration, classified intel has been flooding out of the White House to the press on a daily basis in an effort to undermine his presidency. Obama holdovers buried in the bureaucracies of these agencies have been trying to find ways to keep the president from doing his work properly, and now they’ve gone too far.
Jared Kushner, son-in-law of President Trump, has acted as one of his closest advisers on the campaign trail and in the administration. Kushner recently came under fire from liberals for his presence at the meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and the Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, despite the meeting not being illegal.
The controversy surrounding the meeting with the Russian lawyer went so far that Congress pushed for his security clearance to be revoked despite zero evidence proving criminal or treasonous misconduct. The intelligence community seemed to be in agreement, and his security clearance was revoked, and for good measure they leaked the questionnaire Kushner filled out for security clearance to the press.
What’s worse is this isn’t the first time something like this has happened. In February, the intelligence community rejected Robin Townley’s security clearance. An anonymous source revealed it was because of the disagreements between Michael Flynn and the intelligence community, “They believe this is a hit job from inside the CIA on Flynn and the people close to him. Townley believes that the CIA doesn’t run the world.” (via Politico)
By dictating who gets security clearance, the intelligence agency is preventing Trump from appointing any advisers who could be useful to his administration. It could even go so far as to become a filtration process, making it so only liberal-minded individuals get through.
If the deep state is intent on tearing down Trump’s administration, they could do so by only granting clearance to those who would help their agenda from within the administration itself.
Revoking Kushner’s security clearance is a complete disregard for the authority of Trump as the President of the United States. As President, Trump has the authority to appoint whomever he determines useful to his administration. While it’s obvious that all appointees should be screened for security clearance, rejecting them solely based on who appointed them is against the Constitution.
Should the CIA have the power to override Trump’s appointments by pulling security clearances?
The CIA and other intelligence agencies are going rogue and openly opposing Trump through any means possible, with no thought to the consequences. Liberals are becoming so obsessed with their efforts to oppose Trump’s presidency it’s causing major concerns for national security.
Leaking classified intel, denying presidential authority, and rejecting security clearance based on allegations and not fact is opening up America to danger and it’s time to put a stop to it.
The swamp needs to be drained once and for all and the intelligence community is where it should start.
