Biden warns that a “real” food shortage is coming

According to Fox News, President Joe Biden just admitted that food shortages are likely to happen amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Remember what White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said earlier this week? Let me jog your memory:

While we’re not expecting a food shortage here at home, we do anticipate that higher energy, fertilizer, wheat, and corn prices could impact the price of growing and purchasing critical fuel supply, food supplies for countries around the world.

It doesn’t appear that Biden and his White House are on the same page. But, what else is new.

Biden in Europe

Biden’s warning about an impending food shortage came during the press conference that he gave on Thursday in Belgium after meeting with other world leaders.

“With regard to food shortage, yes we did talk about food shortages, and it’s gonna be real,” Biden said.

Biden continued by stating that this is, at least in part, a result of the sanctions that have been imposed upon Russia by the West following the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine. He noted that “Russia and Ukraine have been the breadbasket of Europe in terms of wheat,” alluding to the fact that Russia is first in wheat exports, while Ukraine is fourth.

Biden went on to say that he and the other world leaders discussed the need to “increase and disseminate” food production. He said that the U.S. and Canada, for example, will seek to increase the wheat supply.

Biden also said that he talked to other world leaders “about urging all European countries and everyone else to end trade restrictions on sending — limitations on sending food abroad.”

Get ready

For anybody with some commonsense, none of this will come as a surprise. What is surprising, however, is just how far America has fallen since the Trump administration.

Once Biden took over and started erasing former President Donald Trump’s policies and replacing them with left-wing ones, things started going south. Before the Russia-Ukraine conflict even commenced, prices were already skyrocketing, and they have only gotten worse since.

The most surprising thing, though, is that, based on what Biden had to say on Thursday, America, under his leadership, has still not hit rock bottom. Given how bad things have been, this is astonishing.
