A large number of anti-capitalist protesters targeted the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, last week where world leaders met to discuss international issues.
True to leftist form, the protests were marked by violence against property and police officers. The Daily Caller has reported that one of the biggest contributors to the violence was a group called “Refuse Fascism,” which receives funding from billionaire socialist George Soros.
The violence began on the day before the conference started. Activists set dozens of cars on fire and smashed windows all over the city.
The protesters employed black bloc tactics that are favored by leftist groups all over the world in order to cause as much damage as possible. They used flares to start fires and launched rocks at the windows of banks and other small businesses.
German police were also at the scene attempting to put a stop to the destruction. Over 160 officers were injured in the many altercations that took place.
Refuse Fascism is an American leftist group that receives funding from billionaire George Soros, who is a fiscal sponsor of the organization. The group is an American organization, but they have stated that they have a “German contingent”. On their Facebook page, they told followers that they have a presence in Hamburg and also pointed out one of their banners among the protesters.
The organization also has ties to Ivy League professor Cornel West, who was a member of the 2016 DNC Platform Committee. Refuse Fascism listed West as one of their “initiators.” Members of Refuse Fascism were also involved in the violent riots that prevented conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos from speaking at UC Berkeley, according to Breitbart.
Refuse Fascism has already stated that they plan to stage more violent protests. On July 15, they will hold protests all over the country to promote their leftist views. On their website, they state:
“July 15th must be a day when every person, every group – religious, community, service, political organization – all who feel the tremendous threat to humanity posed by the Trump/Pence regime – stand together showing the world that people here are determined that this regime must go … not in two years or four, but now,” a description for the July 15 protest states.”
As you might already know, political violence is on the rise all over the world — and most of it is coming from the left. Groups like Refuse Fascism are not content to engage in political debate; they wish to force their views on those with whom they disagree. It is a dangerous component of their totalitarian ideology. It has become increasingly dangerous over the past year.
Simply put, these people must be stopped. Their rhetoric and their actions are doing nothing to further dialogue among Americans. While claiming that their political opponents are “fascists,” they are using fascist tactics to prevent people from exercising their right to free speech.
Refuse Fascism is only one of many groups on the left who wish to further their agenda by preventing conservatives from speaking. If we wish to continue to have a free society, we cannot allow groups such as these to win.
