Ever since the events in Charlottesville, Virginia, left-wing extremist groups like Antifa have been put on notice. One of the most prominent leaders in the movement was arrested this week.
The correct phrase would be “arrested again,” as anti-fascist leader Yvonne Felarca is no stranger to law enforcement. She was arrested this time for battery and resisting arrest in Berkeley, CA, according to Campus Reform. News of her arrest came after a video leaked showing her being surrounded by swat members in full riot gear. Not long after the video was recorded, news came down through the wire of her apprehension.
Felarca is a 47-year-old middle school teacher who is most well-known for her view that you should be able to violently ravage your political opponents. Of course, the reason she believes in this idea is simply to fight fascism, which seems quite ironic.
She leads a group called Fight for Equality By Any Means Necessary (BAMN). Her arrest occurred after a fight with a group of demonstrators who showed up to the Patriot Prayer rally.
Eyewitnesses at the scene described what happened when the police surrounded Felarca. They said that she was taken to the back of a police vehicle that quickly drove off, presumably to go to the police station.
Felarca’s mugshot was later released by the official Berkeley Police Twitter account. It also described her crimes, which as previously mentioned, consisted of resisting arrest and battery.
This is the kind of behavior that is seemingly becoming normalized by the Left as time goes on. While Felarca was arrested for her crimes, situations like this are becoming increasingly common. In fact, up until Ben Shapiro’s speech in Berkeley earlier this month, people were lucky if the police were visible during protests.
The video that was released of Felarca shows a disturbing trend. Felarca was arrested at the start of the summer as well. She was charged with inciting a riot after punching a member of an alleged white nationalist organization who was protesting in a non-violent fashion. She went up to a man and started punching him in the stomach while yelling “Get the **** off our streets!” Her actions definitively portray her belief of “by any means necessary.”
She is also known for giving Republican students and faculty a hard time when she appears at the Berkeley school. She makes broad accusations of racism and sexism and uses those excuses to beat up on people.
Anti-fascist leader, middle-school teacher Yvonne Felarca arrested again for ANTIFA activities. Should her school discipline her for these pursuits?
We should not have to tolerate this kind of violent behavior. The Left’s claims of being anti-fascist are disingenuous, to say the least. They seem to run their entire platform on the model that they can destroy anyone who doesn’t think the way that they do; it has happened time and time again.
At this time, it is unknown if or how long Felarca will face prison time. Based on her previous actions, it seems she will continue her violent protests as long as she possibly can.
Until she is actually in prison, the Left may have more opportunities to praise this Antifa leader.
