The Left wants the American people to believe that President Trump is an irredeemable racist and a sexual predator. The President Trump that comedian Steve Harvey met seems like the complete opposite.
Not very long ago, Harvey and President Trump had a private sit-down wherein Harvey admitted to Trump that he could be a real asset to the Trump administration’s outreach to America’s inner cities. Minutes later, President Trump put Harvey on the phone with Dr. Ben Carson, the HUD Secretary, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
In Harvey’s own words, he and President Trump talked about golf for twenty minutes, then Harvey told President Trump about his personal politics.
“I told him, ‘Mr. President, I’m going to be honest with you, I didn’t vote for you. I campaigned very hard for Hillary Clinton.’ And I said, ‘The problem was that we made a lot of mistakes in the campaign. We were playing checkers and y’all was playing chess. But now that you’re here, you’re the 45th president and I’m going to help you.'”
Harvey then explained to President Trump that because of his many years volunteering for kids across the country, he has a lot of “keys to the city.”
“You’ve appointed Ben Carson as the head of Housing and Urban Development, and I’ve got keys to a lot of cities around this country from the years of performing that I’ve done,” Harvey explained.
“I can get an ear to them really quick and find out what their real needs are. Y’all keep closing schools in the cities. Why don’t we take those schools that are closing, put some HUD money in them, and reopen them as vision centers and teach STEM and computers and coding? If you connect me with Ben Carson, I can help him with that.”
At this point, President Trump put Mr. Harvey in touch with Dr. Carson. Eight months later, Harvey has now met Dr. Carson twice.
Stories like this prove that President Trump is not the monster that he is made out to be. Indeed, President Trump appears to genuinely care about the plight of African Americans, their access to quality education, and their access to job opportunities.
In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, other black celebrities have praised President Trump for his relief efforts and his trips to Houston. Houston rapper Lil’ Flip, a onetime Trump critic, praised the president for going to Houston and for personally meeting with victims.
Everyday citizens of Houston also rushed to take selfies with the 45th president when he visited Texas last week. Many of these citizens also described themselves as Trump critics, but found that they had a new appreciation for Mr. Trump after meeting him.
Harvey’s story and other stories show that the mainstream media cooks up inflammatory rhetoric against President Trump without basing any of it in facts. President Trump is not a racist, Neo-Nazi. President Trump is America’s chief executive, a proud nationalist, and a proud populist who wants what is best for the American people, regardless of their skin color.
